Mealtime Challenges

Feeding Ian is a complete nightmare. He has issues with textured food (except for macaroni and cheese. He is completely obsessed, takes after his mom). He won't eat anything unless it's pureed OR it's pancakes. Or meat. He will take 3 bites of grilled cheese and then declares himself done. He holds his hand up and covers his mouth while swatting away the offensive food. Today he opened himself up to possibly enjoying banana bread. We will try again tomorrow. A typical breakfast consists of 3 mini pancakes (shares half with Spencer), half a yogurt and some oatmeal (3-5 spoonfuls only). He wants to feed himself, yet that is challenging when he prefers liquid food. It is rather frustrating! He throws everything around. I know this behavior is completely normal and every child does it. But we hate it.

In the video below are two things to notice. #1 - yes, his shirt does say "Eligible Bachelor". Serious inquiries only. #2 - Notice he doesn't touch any veggies on his plate, ONLY the chicken!!!
